Apple's iOS 10.3 Update: A Brand New Feature And Possible Fix For The 30 Percent Bug
Jason GlennLast month it was reported that Apple devices were shutting down immediately after their devices reaches 30 percent battery level and was call the "30 percent Bug" during the iOS 10.2. However, Apple might be creating a solution to this annoying bug in its iOS 10.3 update.
Forbes reported that Apple leaker Sonny Dickson revealed that the iOS 10.3 will begin testing on Jan. 10, 2017. The testing will focus on a new feature called the "Theatre Mode". The Theater mode is said to be added to the Control Center of the iPhones and iPads which will be in a shape of a popcorn. Other than this detail, there is still a little information about the feature.
With the name, it said to be related to a "movie playback" setting or an optimized video viewing mode but Dickson insists that is an enhanced Dark Mode. It will be an option button to dim the lights on the screen as it mutes the audio and notifications while the users are in a movie theatre.
In January 2017, it is assumed that the 10.3 update will include the patch for the 30 percent bug which affects the majority of users of iPhone 5 to iPhone 6s Plus. The company has not publicly confirmed nor denied this report. According to Forbes, Tony Fadell, the father of the iPod and ex-Apple executive tweeted that he is also experiencing the same problems. As a workaround, Fadell carries extra external batteries to revive his phone.
"We found that a small number of iPhone 6S devices made in September and October 2015 contained a battery component that was exposed to controlled ambient air longer than it should have been before being assembled into battery packs," said Apple in a statement in their Chinese Website. Apple was then forced to make a battery replacement program after the Chinese consumer watchdog stepped in.
