Xbox Project Scorpio: Big Differences Between The ‘Beast’ Console & Other Xbox Consoles
Gloven RamosMicrosoft's Xbox Project Scorpio is very anticipated for gamers and console fans. But despite the company calling it "the beast," what does this upcoming console have that is different from its successor, the Xbox One?
The Xbox Project Scorpio was unveiled by Microsoft during E3 2016. The company promised that the upcoming console will have 6TFLOPs of graphical computing performance and 4K HDR gameplay.
Besides these facts, Microsoft did not share more details about the Xbox Project Scorpio. However, rumors and speculations about this console spread throughout the internet.
The Xbox Project Scorpio is said to be built for Virtual Reality. Microsoft is now working with Oculus on the console and according to Alphr report, it is clear that Microsoft really takes the VR integration very seriously. This won't just be a machine capable of playing games in VR, it will be built for VR.
Of course, as the latest upcoming console, Xbox Project Scorpio should be better than its competitors. It is stated as fact that this upcoming 'beast' console is faster and powerful than the Sony's PlayStation 4 Pro.
According to Trusted Reviews, the PS4 Pro only has 218GB per second bandwidth while the Microsoft's Xbox Project Scorpio has 320GB per secondto support 4K and VR. This number in Scorpio is the same bandwidth as the NVidia's top-end GeForce GTX 1080 graphics card for PC.
In an interview, Xbox head Phil Spencerstated that games on the Xbox One will work better on Xbox Project Scorpio. But players can't expect games made for Xbox Scorpio to run on the previous consoles like Xbox One.
Despite from the rumors that this Xbox Project Scorpio console wil be costly, Phil Spencer said that this will have a console-price-point. As speculated, this will have a higher price than the current $500 Xbox One. The console is expected to be released on the Holiday season this year.
