Dell Latitude 5285 A Microsoft Surface Pro 4 Clone
JulianneFor those who are waiting for the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 release might want to venture onto Dell's new laptop. The Dell 5285 will be released next month and what's special about it is that it strikes a huge resemblance to the Surface Pro.
TechnoBuffalo reports that Dell's upcoming laptop has similarities with the Surface Pro 4, including support for a stylus, a soft keyboard cover and a built-in kickstand. The 2-in-1 laptop also includes a 12.3-inch 1080 display screen along with a 3:2 aspect ratio, 1TB of SSD, up t0 16GB of RAM, and Intel's seventh generation Core i processor. Additional specs also include two USB-C ports, a single USB-3.0 port, a microSD card reader, and a microSIM slot.
According to The Verge, the reason why a lower 1080 display option for the Dell Latitude 5285 is that the company is targeting businesses first and foremost and technically, high-end specs is not Dell's top priority. Typically, Dell aims its device at enterprise users, meaning the hybrid laptop would be a good device for businessmen and users who are involved in company work. The lower resolution display also helps with the laptop's battery life, providing it with a longer use and productivity.
Furthermore, the publication reports that Dell has already been offering similar 2-in-1, but nothing more similar to the Surface Pro 4 as the mention Dell laptop. The company is also a reseller for the Surface Pro 4, with its one management services added to the top.
The Dell Latitude 5285 will be available on February 28 with pricing starting at $899 - precisely similar with the Surface Pro 4 price tag and the keyboard cover will be sold separately. The hybrid laptop is a good alternative for the Surface Pro 4 as it offer the same capabilities and the same price.
