Verizon Wireless is not getting any HTC One series smartphone, but it will be offering HTC Droid Incredible 4G LTE as an alternative for One series smartphones for $149 starting July 5.
Preparing up for Independence Day party, Verizon Wireless announced on Monday the arrival of HTC Droid Incredible 4G LTE, which is apparently an alternative to HTC One S at the Big Red. The smartphone will be available for $149 (after $50 mail-in rebate) starting July 5 at Verizon stores.
HTC Droid Incredible 4G LTE was originally unveiled as Verizon exclusive at CTIA Wireless show earlier in May. Last week, HTC also tweeted that something "INCREDIBLE" is on the way.
The Incredible 4G LTE is more like the HTC One S. It packs 4.0-inch LCD display with qHD resolution of 540 X 960 pixels @275ppi, topped by Corning Gorilla Glass protection. It runs on dual-core 1.2 GHz Snapdragon S4 processor. The device has 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage. However, it supports microSD card, something that One series HTC smartphones does not support, sized up to 32GB to take the maximum storage to 40GB.
HTC Droid Incredible 4G LTE runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich topped by Sense UI 4.0 overlay. The device comes with Beats Audio integration and user interface is identical to HTC's One series smartphones.
Verizon's upcoming smartphones has 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash support, which records 1080p videos at 30fps, along with capturing excellent quality images at 3264 X 2448 pixels resolution. The secondary camera in the device is 1.3-megapixel which can record 720p HD videos.
Connectivity features in the Droid Incredible 4G LTE include Bluetooth 4.0, microUSB v2.0, NFC, 4G LTE, and Wi-Fi with Wi-Fi Direct, DLNA sharing and hotspot functionality. In addition, it has 1,700 mAh battery.
HTC Droid Incredible 4G LTE is nothing like a flagship smartphone, but it is enough to fill the hole of HTC One series smartphones at Verizon Wireless.
