Logitech News: Logitech's Wireles G533 Headphone, The Choice For Gamers
Jomst C.It's not that easy to find a suitable gaming headset as most of the headsets currently available in the market, even from the big brands, offer mediocre sound quality, a questionable fit with distracting LED lights. Logitech has recently unveiled its G533 wireless gaming headset that will not offer advanced audio performance but will also be very light on the pocket at just $150.
The G533 is compatible with Windows only, showcasing evolution and simplicity from its predecessor, the $200 G933, which was intended for console use. The G533 is inclusive of the same Pro-G audio drivers. It has exceptional sound quality in comparison to its nearest competitors.
When listening to multiple genres of music, from pop, rock, disco, RnB, EDM to Metal, the G533 keeps delivering a pleasant sound that is felt wide open, even with its closed back design. Though music listening is somewhat unrelated to gaming, it might be core criteria for headphone selection.
Locating in-game noises is a breeze with the G533, whether its FPS games or as simple as basic strategy games like "Civilization". It uses a USB dongle to create a proprietary wireless connection (protocol provided by Avnera) that can reach up to full 15 meters. The G533 outperformed all other Bluetooth headphones aside from Beats Solo 3 in terms of range and connection reliability. Although its Mac compatibility is an issue, the latency of the G533 is very minimal.
The G533's battery last for 15 hours and are replaceable, but this headset doesn't have the usual passive mode where it can be plugged in when the battery dies. Gamers would have to make sure that it's always charged.
The headset is inclusive of a foldable mic with a tiny pop filter built in it. Overall Logitech has made a good package with the G533. A comfortable lightweight headphone that is wireless. The Logitech G533 will be released sometime this month at $149.99
