Motorola Atrix HD headed to AT&T [Specifications]

The long-rumored Motorola Atrix 3 (aka Motorola Dinara) is now official with Motorola Atrix HD written on the official nameplate. The device is up on company's Web site and will debut in U.S. on AT&T in couple of weeks.

Motorola has confirmed its plans on the third entry in its Atrix family. The Atrix HD page is now online on Motorola Web Site. The smartphone has an AT&T logo on it, indicating that it is headed to AT&T. But, there is no fixed date for its arrival on the carrier.

The Atrix HD has Droid Razr like design. At release time, it will be available in two colors - Modern White and Titanium. The smartphone features 4.5-inch "HD ColorBoost" LCD display with resolution of 1,280 X 720 pixels, topped by Corning Gorilla Glass protection. The phone measures 8.4mm thick and weighs 140 g.

It packs dual-core 1.5 GHz processor with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage. For expandable memory options, it supports microSD card sized up to 32GB. The device runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich with Motorola's SMARTACTIONS software on the top.

Motorola Atrix HD is targeted more on business users with top-class security and business-oriented features like Virtual Private Network (VPN) support. Important data like e-mail, contacts and calendar are encrypted. Quickoffice package comes pre-installed on the Atrix HD. In addition, it has a mirror mode (using WebTop application) to give presentation on a bigger screen.

Motorola Atrix HD has 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash support that can record full-HD 1080p videos at 30fps. Users can also take still shots while recording HD videos. There is also a secondary 1.3-megapixel camera in the device for video calling and self-portraits.

Connectivity offerings include 4G LTE, Bluetooth 4.0, microUSB v2.0, 3.5mm audio jack, HDMI port, GPS and Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n. Moreover, users can also hook up to 5 Wi-Fi enable devices to the new Atrix utilizing hotspot functionality of the smartphone.
