Fujifilm Announces New Rugged Compact Camera; The FinePix XP120 Plus Graphite Editions To The X-T2 & X-Pro2
Ceage SottoDespite Fujifilm not making any major announcements at CES 2017, the company has introduced a camera intended for sporty millennials. The FinePix XP120 is the latest member of the company's rugged point and shoot cameras.
According to PCMag, the FinePix XP120 will be waterproof up to 65 feet and shockproof to 5.8 feet drops. It will also have a dustproof and freezeproof rating to go with its 16.4-megapixel CMOS sensor.
The specs aren't as flashy as the TG-4 camera from Olympus but at $230, it's worth the price. It has a 3-inch LCD and can record at 1080p resolution at 60 frames per second. The camera also has built-in Wifi for easy image transfers via Fujifilm's smartphone app.
The camera will reportedly launch the FinePix XP120 late in February. It will be available in a number of bright hues.
Fujifilm hasn't been a presence at the Consumer Electronic Show in the recent years. CES isn't a camera trade show, and both WPPI and CP+ are just around the corner for much of the company's future announcements.
As a bonus, the company has also announced new editions for two of Fujifilm's top tier cameras. There will be a new "Graphite" edition for both the X-T2 and X-Pro2 to in the later part of January.
As a bonus, Fujifilm also announced new "Graphite" editions of its high-end X-T2 and X-Pro2, which are set to hit stores later this month for $1,800 and $2,300, respectively.
The company's X-Pro2 Graphite Edition will approximately cost buyers $2,300. The special edition version of the X-Pro2 will include the XF 23mm F2 R WR and the body will be finished in Graphite.
The X-T2 Graphite Silver Edition will look like the X-T1 Graphite Silver edition. It will cost camera enthusiasts at least $1,800 to own the kit. It will have a three-layer finish that consists of a matte black undercoat, a thin graphite silver coat and a clear varnish to give the camera its premium effect.
