One of the hottest topics these days in "GTA Online" is false positive bans. This is a situation wherein innocent players somehow accidentally step on the new anti-cheat system installed into the game.

In "GTA Online," being banned is not easy to resolve. In fact, it is downright impossible. A recent change in the ban policy of the game has introduced a new clause, which prohibits the appealing of bans. All penalties are final, regardless of the circumstance. Pushing luck and contacting support because of a ban will simply get you an auto-response.

The bans, once imposed, are strict. Access is restricted for longer periods and all of your progress is wiped, instead of simply being prevented from playing a "GTA Online" portion for a few days. Upon the lifting, no matter how high your rank was and how many rides you purchased, you will be back to rank one, arriving as LSIA. The only thing left untouched would be Shark Card cash, since it was purchased with real money, according to "GTA5" Cheats.

There are a number of safety measures you can take to further minimize the risk of getting false-positive bans. Try to exercise caution when you do single player modding, because of most of the time, disabling them is tricky. Players run the risk of accidentally participating in "GTA Online" with mods still on, thus automatically triggering the anti-cheat system and earning the ban.

Most mods appear to be user-friendly, with files easy to quarantine before going Online. There are some, however, that litter the "GTA 5" folder with bits of their files, making it easier to miss something. To prevent this from happening, get a clean install of the game to ensure no stray mod files are in the system.

Another cause of false-positive bans is various third-party programs with in-game overlays. Since overlay functions technically similar to the "GTA Online" mod-menus and hacks, it triggers the anti-cheat system. There is no guarantee, however, if a particular system will trigger a ban. Recently, the community has stacked some considerably high-risk programs for players to be aware of. Among them is the Rivatuner overlay for the MSI Afterburner program, Discord's overlay, Teamspeak, Bandicam, and OBS. Furthermore, the official Windows 10 Recorder is known to be a high-risk program, as well as Fraps, XSplit and Mirillis Action. In addition, stay away from Dxtory and D3DGear, though these fall into the category of being just suspects.
