The Samsung Galaxy Note finally bids adieu to the rumor mills as T-Mobile confirmed that it is officially on the carrier. The eagerly-awaited Galaxy Note will have the Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0) on board and is slated to be released in a few weeks.

T-Mobile USA confirmed on Monday that it will start selling the Samsung Galaxy Note in the coming weeks. "We are excited to confirm the Samsung Galaxy Note will be coming to T-Mobile! More info to come," T-Mobile USA tweeted on Monday. The carrier did not divulge the exact release date and the price details. The device makes also packs the updated Android 4.0 operating system - Ice Cream Sandwich, Along with Samsung's Premium Suite, the device houses a couple of additional apps like Dropbox, CamScanner, Square, LinkedIn, and Evernote.

The T-Mobile variant of Galaxy Note looks identical to the AT&T version, with four capacitive buttons underneath the screen, instead of two capacitive buttons and a physical Home button. However, the carrier is adding few features, with Wi-Fi calling being one of them, to make the device feel unique (and better) from the AT&T version. The Premium Suite adds more power to S-Pen apps. More details about new features on the Galaxy Note with Android 4.0 update and Premium Suite can be found here.

The smartphone sports 5.3-inch Super AMOLED display with resolution of 1280 X 800 pixels. The smartphone runs on dual-core 1.5 GHz Snapdragon processor with 1GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. It also has a microSD card support for up to 32GB. Notable features of the Galaxy Note are S-Pen functionality, 4G LTE connectivity, and 8-megapixel rear camera.

The Galaxy Note made its debut last September, while it was released in the U.S. as an AT&T exclusive in February. Many analysts believed that the consumer would never opt for such a big smartphone; however, all speculations have turned out to be wrong and the handset surprised the world by playing an important part in lifting the Galaxy series' sales. The Galaxy Note's huge touch screen, which earned the phablet moniker, has turned out to be an advantage for Samsung. The Korean tech giant is apparently prepping a successor to the 5.3-inch phablet with an even bigger display. According to GSM Arena, the upcoming phablet will feature 5.5-inch display, quad-core Exynos processor and 2GB of RAM. Citing unnamed Samsung insider, the publication claimed that the new smartphone will arrive in September.

With a gamut of gadgets to choose from, this Christmas consumers will be spoilt for gifting choices. The Galaxy Note, in turn, will aide in establishing Samsung's foothold in the competitive gizmo circus.
