Latest Beta Version Of Google Maps Will Help You Find A Parking Spot

Google recently released a beta version of Google Maps that will help users find a parking spot at their destinations according to Android Police. This latest feature is now live for users on Maps v9.44 beta.

The mobile app Waze, also a navigation service and owned by Google, also has a similar feature that was released a few months ago. Now, Google is porting the said feature to its main navigation app.

When users search for driving destinations, a parking availability will be shown on the map as a small rounded P icon with a description. There are three levels of availability; Easy, Medium and Limited, which the latter will show a color red P icon.

Users can expand the directions to get more information about the parking situations as they drive to their destination.

However, the parking availability feature is currently limited to public destinations such as airports, shopping malls and other attractions according to BGR. Hopefully, Google will eventually expand to additional markets and a stable version of the app. Although no official word from Google has been announced at this point.

In addition, the Google Maps is using the users' location data to help it predict real-time traffic conditions along the users' destination. Thus, the parking feature might use the same component.

At this time, it is not yet known if this latest feature on the beta version is live in select locations only or in other countries other than the US for that matter. Therefore the availability will vary depending on where your location is.
