'Mass Effect: Andromeda' Allows Weapon-Crafting & Naming; Game Given MA15+ Rating
Dannel Picaccio Camille Perez LozanoBioWare's "Mass Effect: Andromeda" has a new promise to look out for -- letting players craft their own weapons. Although the feature may not be new to the gaming world, BioWare found the need to apply the said approach to the upcoming role-playing game.
According to a report by Neurogadget, Ian S. Frazier, lead designer of "Mass Effect: Andromeda," said that fans will be able to come up with their own weapons and even name them as pleased. Interestingly, this approach was not done before in any of the "Mass Effect" titles, but it is not the first for BioWare. A previously launched game known as "Dragon Age: Inquisition" was bestowed this feat -- and the developers expect this to further attract more curious gamers.
Frazier stated an example for the feature -- the "krogan-style hammer" being crafted may then be named "Grabthar's Hammer." While this may be good for the upcoming title features-wise, a new rating for the game may become less acceptable for the younger audiences -- at least with how the critics labelled it.
As per a report by the Australian Classification, "Mass Effect: Andromeda" was given a rating of MA15+, due to its rather mature content. Moreover, the rating suggests that it contains "strong sex scenes and violence, online interactivity." The game, as mentioned, does involve a notable amount of violence, drug use, nudity and language, which can be a point of concern to most parents -- especially the sex scenes.
"Mass Effect: Andromeda" has finally been given a solid release date, after the multiple delays. The game is BioWare's fourth entry in the series made for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC. Fans can get the game by March 21 for the US, with a beta expected to surface but without a definite date as of this writing.
