Microsoft Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 1514 Has A New Ebook Store & Better Power Management Options
Ceage SottoMicrosoft has announced that the Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 1514 will be adding more features for the PC. The features include added customization options and a better power management tool. Plus, the company has officially opened its own ebook store.
The addition of an ebook store adds a new dimension to the world's most preferred OS system for PCs. However, the main features of Build 1514 will be the added options for storage cleanup and an easier power management, according to PCWorld. Balancing the performance and power consumed by specific apps will be easier with the upcoming update.
Microsoft's Ebook Store
The Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 1514 will be due out in spring this year. The update suggests that the company is catching up and opening up a diverse set of upgrades to Windows 10.
The announced build suggests that Microsoft is catching up with Amazon and other digital booksellers. Instead of adding a dedicated Books app for ebooks, the company is going to use Edge. The downloaded ebook will be stored like a Web page in the browser's Reading List. PDF and EPUB formats will be supported.
Better Power Management Options
Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 1514 allows users to select power options with the use of a slider. Windows 10 owners won't have to do the tedious task of accessing the control panel. Microsoft has simplified the option and brought it inside of the Windows 10 Taskbar.
Unfortunately, the slider will be appearing only on a small number of test PCs. Although it seems to coincide with the company's plans to add a game mode feature, Microsoft has not yet commented if this would be integrated with the power options.
The other utility feature will be a new option to clean up unused and temporary system files on your Windows 10 OS. The option will allow your PC to hunt down temporary files that have been unused for 30 days. The option is off by default and turning it on would save you the hassle of manually deleting the files.
