WhatsApp 2.17.24 Update Adding Video Calling, GIF Support Downloadable Now For Android Devices [VIDEO]
Pia MerciWhatsApp is still one of the most used mobile messaging applications for the longest time. However, to keep WhatsApp as users' top choice for such means of communication, its developers need to continuously offer improvements and new features and options which now apparently come with their version 2.17.24.
WhatsApp has released their latest BETA version of the application which is version 2.17.24. This has been released for devices that run on Android OS. However, WhatsApp BETA 2.17.24 reportedly doesn't come with new features or options, rather its sole purpose was to fix some of issues and bugs that have been discovered in the previous version.
Through the said BETA, it can play videos right away without waiting for them to be downloaded first. While the video is playing, it will be downloaded on the phone. It also introduces the WhatsApp video calling wherein video calls are free and have face-to-face chats with the users' friends and family across the globe. What's more, users can now send and receive animated GIFs.
As aforementioned, the WhatsApp BETA 2.17.24 is currently in BETA phase that means that users will need to manually download the APK installation file from the internet and install it on their smartphones. Users can also become a WhatsApp BETA Tester and install the said new version of the application directly from the official Android store.
For users to be able to become WhatsApp BETA Tester, they have to open the Google Play Store webpage and select the "BECOME A TESTER" option by tapping on it. Users will just need to open the official Android store afterwards, then search for WhatsApp BETA 2.17.24 and install it on their smartphones.
WhatsApp is used by more than 1 billion people in over 180 countries to stay in touch with their friends and family, anywhere and anytime. It is free to use and offers a simple, reliable, and secure messaging and calling functions which are available on phones all over the world through the use of the internet connection.
