'Toukiden 2' Will Be Released On March Via Steam, First Special Event Announced

Tecmo Koei Games has just recently confirmed that "Toukiden 2" will be officially launched in the United States and Europe in March. According to reports, the RPG will be made available first via steam in the US on March 21 while a March 24 "Toukiden 2" release date is set for Europe.

"Toukiden 2" comes from the "Toukiden" video game series developed by Omega Force and published by Tecmo Koei Games. The first title in the series is "Toukiden: The Age of Demons" which was launched in Japan on June 27, 2013. A PS Vita version of the game was featured at 2013 E3 and was subsequently released on Feb. 11, 2014 in North America.

An enhanced version of the game's predecessor was launched with a title "Toukiden: Kiwami". It was launched in Japan on Aug. 28, 2014 exclusively for the PlayStation Vita and PSP. "Toukiden 2" was first debuted on July 28, 2016 in Japan.

The storyline of the game revolves around fighting the Oni and defending the Mahoroba Village. The main protagonist is drawn to a portal while an Oni is attacking the world only to be drawn in a strange village in a timeline that is 10 years after the initial Oni attack.

A feature added to "Toukiden 2" is that players will be given access to a demon hand. The added feature will allow players to take their avatar to new places to attack the monster Oni. Not much has been released about other details of the game.

Koei Tecmo Games has also announced that they will be doing a special promotion event during the pre-order of "Toukiden 2". In NA, if a player pre-orders in any of the partner stores, which include the following major retailers; GameStop, Amazon, Best Buy and EB Games, he will get the Sanada Noboyuki, Sanada Masayuki, Sarutobi Sasuke Mitama, Tenko Costume and Chika Rin In.
