Upcoming Horror Game 'Visage' Will Be 'Terrifying'

Survival horror fans were devastated when Konami's "Silent Hills" game was canceled, especially since its surprise demo PT (Playable Teaser) hyped gamers for what was supposed to be the ninth main entry in the "Silent Hill" franchise. Now, developer SadSquare Studios hopes to fill the void in gamers' hearts with their game "Visage."

According to GamesRadar, the game "Visage" looks like the "lovechild" of "PT" and "Allison Road." SadSquare Studio's "haunted house horror game" is slated for a Q2 2017 release for the PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and VR (PSVR, Oculus Rift, and Steam VR). "Visage" is "[s]et in a house that has seen multiple deaths - some violent, some benign" and you must uncover why malevolent entities are following you by "reliving fragments of history."

The co-founder of SadSquare Studios, Jonathan Gagné, shared that the dev team worked hard to make gamers "quake with fear" even while inside their own homes. The dev acknowledged that "Visage" does take some cues from other similarly themed demos and games like "PT" and "Allison Road," but they promised that their own title will also provide players with a unique gaming experience.

Gagné promised that "the interactivity and depth of gameplay elements, the story and lore of the world, will far outstretch the short and intense gameplay of PT." As a game that focuses on psychological horror, pacing will accompany "an overwhelming sense of dread" so players will always be kept on their feet.

"Visage" will feature various "moments of nothingness, exploration and discovery." SadSquare Studios' game will be a non-linear interactive and "almost sandbox game." Gamers will need to explore every nook and cranny in the upcoming horror game "Visage" to get the whole story.

"Visage" also has a Kickstarter page with more information about the upcoming horror game. SadSquare Studios revealed that "Visage" won't be like typical games that are only full of jump-scares because it "is a psychological horror game." Players are warned that they "can expect to feel true terror created by a very dark, realistic atmosphere and the presence of entities you wish you'd never seen."
