How To Speed Up Safari Running Slow in iOS 10
Cris Xander JulianoApple's iOS 10 firmware brought new features to their devices. The Safari, in particular, added new features such as side-by-side Tabs for iPad, Apple Pay in mobile version, inline video support just to name a few. However, there are reports that since the update, their Safari app has been running quite slow. With this, here are a few ways to speed up your Apple web browser according to Mobipicker.
Clear History and Data
As history and data volume increases overtime, it can get clogged up and slow down the browser. To clear the history, go to Settings then tap Safari. Then go to "Clear History and Website Data" and confirm "Clear History and Data." Restart Safari afterwards.
Disable Background App Refresh
When Background App Refresh is enabled, suspended apps may check for updates that might slow down the Safari. To disable this feature, go to Settings, tap on General and then tap Background App Refresh. Toggle it to "Off."
Clear All Safari Tabs
Having multiple tabs in Safari consumes memory that slows down the browser. To close all tabs, launch Safari then tap and hold on the Tabs icon from the bottom right corner. Tap the cross (x) on the upper left corner of each tab to close them or by swiping the tabs to your left.
Clear Reading List
Clearing the reading list may speed up Safari. To do so, go to Settings and tap General. Tap Storage & iCloud Usage and tap Manage Storage. Look for the Safari app then tap it, you will see "Edit" on the upper right corner. Tap "Edit" then tap the red button on the side of "Offline Reading List," tap "Delete" to confirm.
Disable Location Services
This also might help speed up your Safari. Go to Settings and then tap Privacy. Tap Location Services and then toggle it to "Off."
