Motorola Moto G5 Receives US FFC Nod, Features And Specs Confirmed
Jason PalmerMotorola Moto G5 has just been certified by the US Federal Communications Commission (FFC). This means that the next Motorola budget smartphone is nearing release date and may be just in time for the upcoming Barcelona Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2017.
The FCC certification for the not yet released Motorola budget smartphone gives it a green light in the US. The certificate issued by the US FCC also confirmed some of the already leaked Motorola Moto G5 specs and features.
The G5 will be slightly overpowered by the Motorola Moto G5 Plus that is said to feature a 3,100mAh battery. The G5, according to the FCC certificate, will come with 3,000mAh battery.
A fast charging feature is also revealed in the FCC certificate. The next Motorola budget phone will also come with a USB cable measuring one meter.
The wireless connection featured in the next installment of the Moto G series are Bluetooth 4.2, 4G/LTE and WiFi connectivity. The budget smartphone will also include a Near Field Communication (NFC).
Though Motorola is yet to announce a release date for its next budget smartphone it is highly speculated that the new Moto handset will be released in the 2017 MWC. The recent FCC certification seems to all but confirm the reported release date.
The Motorola Moto G5 features that have been floated online gives people a hint of what to expect from the upcoming budget handset. The G5 is said to come with Full HD 5.5-inch display. It is also speculated that the budget unit will come with Android 7.0 Nougat.
Other features of the G5 includes a 13MP camera and a 5MP front camera. The phone will also come with 16GB of storage.
So far, the only confirmed smartphone for the 2017 MWC is the BlackBerry Mercury. Adding the Motorola Moto G5 and the G5 plus to the confirmed list is sure to make the MWC much more interesting.
