QuakeCon 2017 dates and venue, in celebration of iD software, has been announced and confirmed by Zenimax Media. Zenimax Media has announced to the public last weekend the initial details of this year's QuakeCon, the yearly celebration of iD Software as well as its expanding sister companies. The celebration was rumored to be held in Texas where it has always been held for the past twenty-five (25) years. However, in the said announcement, QuakeCon 2017 is going to be held in an enormous venue this year.

Following the attendance of 10,000 people in last year's QuakeCon in Hilton Anatole, the company decided that it is high time to choose a much larger venue in order to house more fans in the annual celebration. The annual LAN and video game convention is thus set to move to a larger space right across the metroplex.

In the recent announcement, Zenimax Media disclosed plans to host QuakeCon 2017 at the Gaylord Texan Resort and Convention Center, a huge chunk of space in Grapevine, Texas. While the event is set to be moved in this venue, this is not the first time that QuakeCon is to be held in said venue as the LAN has been held in it in the years 2004, 2005, and 2009 respectively before moving to Dallas, Texas in the past six (6) years.

There will be free admission for QuakeCon 2017 during the course of the convention. The show will begin on August 24, Thursday, and will last through August 27, Sunday. The Gaylord Texan Hotel will also be offering discounted room rates of $185 to attendees. The announcement, however, has failed to disclose whether this rate is to be applied to limited rooms only. Likewise, no pronouncements have been made on the number of BYOC seats that fans can expect this year. Nevertheless, there is plenty of time to which fans can wait for further announcements.
