We recently reported on two images that popped up on Samsung's Olympics Facebook page, which appeared to show a black Galaxy S3.
Those images are now receiving more fuel for their black fire, courtesy of newly leaked images of Carphone Warehouse's internal database, obtained by Android Police. The images show a listing for a Samsung Galaxy S3 Black alongside the currently available White and Blue models.
In the comments section of the Android Police article, a user who claims to work for Carphone Warehouse says the Galaxy S3 Black listing has actually been in their database since before the S3 itself was even announced, and that its appearance in the database image leak is not proof of any upcoming release.
However, the comment is at odds with a previously leaked image in early May 2012, which only showed blue and white Galaxy S3 models in the Carphone Warehouse database. This image leaked after the new Galaxy's official announcement but before Samsung confirmed any models or colors. The comment must be taken with a proverbial grain of salt.
Whether the Olympic Facebook images were an accident, a trick of the light, or generated to stir up more interest in the Galaxy S3, it seems increasingly likely that a black Galaxy S3 is on its way to the market.
Would you prefer black over the current Galaxy color schemes? Should Samsung get even more colorful and release a model that truly stands out from the pack (Samsung Galaxy S3 Fuchsia, I'm looking at you)? Leave your colorful comments below.
