'Pokemon Sun and Moon' Players Completes Global Mission for the First Time

Expectations were high for the first "Pokemon Sun and Moon" global mission. However, during this first attempt to reach a target of catching 100 million Pokemon during the course of the event, players failed to reach this target.

The second attempt came in a few months later. However, this second chance for redemption was, likewise, a failure as players failed for the second time to complete their global mission. After this failure, expectations were quite low for the third attempt in completing another round of the mission given the outcome of the first two attempts.

Much to the surprise of everyone, the third attempt was a charm for "Pokemon Sun and Moon" players. During this attempt, players were already able to complete, for the first time, their first global mission.

This success marks the very first time in which the gamers' community was able to secure a win in a worldwide event since its official release in November last year. Players were assigned the task of trading 1 million Pokemon in only 14 days by using the games' Global Trade System (GTS). The success also came attended by a record time as players were able to hit this impressive milestone for only a matter of four (4) days.

Players were given ten (10) days to complete the said global mission. In the course of this mission, players had the ability to shift their energies and resources to bonus targets which will later on give them bonus rewards. Another impressive feat that players were able to do was to pass the two (2) million total Pokemon traded by way of the GTS. If players reach this target before midnight on February 14, players will be rewarded with a Friend Ball--a special type of Pokeball which increases the happiness level of any Pokemon that is caught with it.

The success comes with a caveat, however. The previous failures continued to haunt this victory. One of the most persistent speculations that attended this success is the one that related to the Global Link feature of the game. Several players were able to experience issues relating to functionality and connectivity while attempting to use it in the game. Errors in connection with this feature in the previous global missions clearly indicate trouble.

Some other speculations included difficulties in relation to registration. Several players have claimed that access was elusive to their Pokemon Trainer Accounts that linked them to the Pokemon Global Link which, in turn, allows players to enter and update their respective information when taking part in global missions. This, somehow, provides explanations as to why there were few players who were taking part in worldwide events such as this despite the overwhelmingly positive response that attended the record-breaking sales of "Pokemon Sun and Moon."

In the recent global mission, a reported 6000 accounts were banned from taking part in the mission as these players were reported to have altered saved data. This, of course, is compounded with the recent "Pokemon Sun and Moon" hack ban from which the game's reputation has not yet moved on. Nevertheless, the Pokemon Company assures its fans that the crack down on cheating players will be doubled, and additional restrictions and measures will be implemented to block attempts at cheating.

Despite such controversies, the success of Pokemon's recent global event has given fans much to celebrate about. The future looks bright for the following global missions that are in-store for fans and players alike. "Pokemon Sun and Moon" are both currently available for Nintendo 2DS and 3DS versions.
