Microsoft Xbox One Preview: Update Features Surround Sound For Headphones
CJ EstimadaThe lack of virtual surround sound on the XBox One has apparently been resolved. Criticisms on how Xbox One has poor support on audio features has been expressed by several users.
Microsoft's newest update, which includes surround sound support, will be enjoyed by those who love to play with headphones. This feature gives audiophiles a virtual surround sound feel. It also makes the experience much better than before with clear voice capture.
Over the last few weeks, gamers have most likely seen that Microsoft is fine-tuning and adjusting its Xbox One dashboard. There have already been a number of tweaks and changes and it looks like there's more to anticipate. Apparently, this is being offered for Windows 10 through the insider program as well, writes GamingBolt.
Not A Major Update
Although this modification being rolled out now in the Xbox Insider program is not a massive change, somehow, it should be a welcome addition to those who like to play the console with headphones all the same. This will engage gamers even more in rich stereo sound for immersive game and chat experience as surround sound is essential for premium gaming feel.
According to CNET, unlike the November update that introduced new features and backward compatibility, and promises better performance, this latest update is purely an enhancement of surround sound for headphones.
How To Upgrade
The change appears to be native virtual surround option for Xbox One headphones and it is being called "Windows Sonic for Headphones." Gamers no longer need to head to the console's settings to get the update if it is set to automatically download updates.
The update is only available to a select few in the meantime. Nonetheless, it can be expected to roll out to a bigger audience in the near future. Stay tuned for more XB1 updates.
