The "Pokemon GO" Gen 2 update is expected to come out during the first half of the year as fans are already eager to see how the game will evolve after it became an instant hit last year. Gamers have already line up their expectations for this new update.

When will the update come?

The Bit Bag said that Niantic has already started working on the Gen 2 in December last year but only very limited details have been released about this update. It added that there is a possibility that this could be introduced next month or in July during the anniversary of the game's release.

Fans are hoping that there will be big changes in the mobile game when the update releases soon. "Pokemon GO" was a big hit in the mobile gaming industry but its popularity has declined though it is still one of the most downloaded apps on Android and iOS devices.

Additional items and moves

According to Mic, there will be new items which will be added for "Pokemon GO" once the update arrives including a Footprint Identifier. This is a tracking device which will give Pokemon "distance and direction" during the game.

In addition, it was also mentioned that there will be a new category of items called Key items which can be earned by players when there are special events. On the other hand, Care items are those which players can use to clean their Pokemon, learn about Combat moves and raise their CP.

Forbes added that there could be more than 30 moves which will be added to the game like the Iron Tail, Slash and Hex which are quick moves and the charge-up moves Mirror Coat, Zap Cannon and Crunch. These are just some of the anticipated improvements for the Gen 2 update.
