Recent leaks have already pointed out to impending "Pokemon Go" Gen 2 update, with big new features to bring the hype back among its fanbase. Niantic saw a decrease in the number of players post its record-breaking release in July last year.

Now, the question is when is major patch coming? Several predictions, whether an educated guess or purely based on intuition, have appeared online since Niantic recently hinted at the release date news of Gen 2 Update for "Pokemon Go".

Possible Gen 2 Update Release Date

The game developer prompted fans to watch out for a new update soon. It also said that gamers might get a special message from Professor Wilow.

While it is not yet clear when this major update is coming to the game, Otakkuart reported a speculation that a release in July sounds likely. It further cited that big games conventionally launch one or two huge patches in a year and roll it out two weeks or a month following the game's first anniversary.

As for Bimingham Mail, Niantic could have made a decision to delay the "Pokemon Go" Gen 2 Update to Spring and Summer this year. According to the outlet, this estimate makes sense since these are the seasons that majority of the players will find it right to walk out of their home and catch Pokemon.

Ahead of the major update, players will not be able to use single-use incubators at Pokestops as Holiday event is reaching its conclusion. This means that gamers will now take more time to hatch eggs.

Another thing to expect is that Gen 2 eggs for evolved creatures from Baby Pokemon are not hatching. Game community site Siph Road has reportedly conducted a test with researchers to examine the hatch rates of collected eggs from December. Surprisingly, not one egg was hatched out of the 1,621 eggs. Lastly, reports indicate that fans can watch out for Legendary Pokemon coming to the game in the near future.

Meanwhile, fans can enjoy the holiday-themed Valentine's day event for "Pokemon Go" that will last until February 15. At the time of this writing, Gen 2 Update has no exact release date yet.
