NES Classic Mini Stock Update: Nintendo Cancelling Production? Last Shipment To Arrive April or May [Report]
JEVThe latest update on NES Classic Mini that is making the rounds online comes a bad news to fans who are still waiting for the new stocks of Nintendo gaming system to hit the market.
At status quo, the NES Classic Mini edition has remained out of stock and Nintendo has not yet released any update on when the new units will arrive. There maybe those who can luckily find one being sold at retailer's shop for $60 while some can buy it a much higher price at auction on eBay.
Now, if the most recent reports are true, such prices can even surge to a bigger number. A user of NeoGAF called Roarer, who is reportedly working for a giant retailer at Nordic region has shared an update regarding the status of NES Classic Mini production.
Roarer apparently stated that Nintendo is halting the manufacturing of the gaming system. He further said that there will be several shipment to be made still and then, things will be shut down.
Based on his post, he mentioned that as one of the retailers, it is estimated that it will be able to deliver each pre-order received. In addition to that, he said that the last set of shipment will come in April or May. Then, there will be no more to follow.
Roarer also added that the same information were provided to other stores and they have started sending out e-mails to advise their buyers about the cancellation of their order. The NeoGaf user supported his claim by a post made by the retailer based in Norway on its Facebook account, which has confirmed the cancellation of the orders for NES Classic Mini.
Geek reports that so far, what's revealed is the cancellation of the orders in Norway. However, this might strongly hint that the production will also be stopped in other parts of the globe.
It can be recalled that Nintendo earlier announced about augmenting the production of the gaming system, as opposed to this report. President Tatsumi Kimishima expressed his apologies on Twitter with regard to the product shortage. Kimishima added that there are parts of the console that are difficult to manufacture. However, Nintendo is initiating an increase in its production.
At the time of this writing, Nintendo has not made a comment to confirm or deny that it has stopped production of the NES Mini Classic. So, the game console's fans must stay tuned for an official word from the company to validate this information.
