"Hollow Knight," a 2D action platform video game is set to be released on Feb. 24 for the Windows and Mac. The video game was first revealed way back November 2014 when a crowdfunding project was initiated for the game.

"Hollow Knight" first appeared on the video game radars on Nov. 19, 2014 when a crowdfunding project via Kickstarter was initiated for the video game. The crowdfunding for the 2D action game lasted for 30 days.

Within the 30 day period of encouraging video game fans to fund the development of "Hollow Knight," the project was able to acquire a total of AU$57,138 from 2,158 backers. The project began with only AU$35,000 as its funding goal.

According to PCGamer, "Hollow Knight" looks like a mash up between three different video games. These games are; Blind Forest, Cuphead and Ori. The new 2D platformer will feature over 130 enemies and 30 bosses to battle with.

VG247 described the upcoming video game as Metroidvania adventure. The new video game is developed by Team Cherry.

According to the "Hollow Knight" website, video game players will have to use their skills and reflexes to survive the game. In "Hollow Knight," players will be exploring twisting caverns and learn how to escape intricate traps.

The game follows the "Hollow Knight" as players explore the forgotten kingdom lying under the depths of Dirtmouth. Players will have to fight tainted creatures in order to solve an ancient mystery.

The "Hollow Knight" Kickstarter project was able to rich the AU$50,000 mark for Team Cherry to introduce the 2D action adventure game to the Nintendo Wii U. However, the plans to release the game for Wii U has reportedly been canceled just a few weeks ago. The game developers, according to reports, will develop a "Hollow Knight" game for the Nintendo Switch as an alternative.
