‘Mass Effect: Andromeda’ Update: New Planets, Exploration-Based Gameplay & New Conversation System
Ritwik Roy"Mass Effect: Andromeda" will be released on March 21 for Xbox One, OS4 and PC. The game won't be coming to Nintendo Switch for the time being. Depending on demand, BioWare will take a call whether to bring the party to Switch. However, fans can try out "Mass Effect," "Mass Effect 2" and "Mass Effect 3" as part of the Xbox One backwards compatibility scheme. In a recent interview with Official Xbox Magazine (OXM), creative director Mac Walters that planets in the game will have whole new different stories for players to enjoy.
"So we want to have high stakes, and there are high stakes in the sense that if you don't succeed in your role, that's it for humanity, and potentially every other species that came from the Milky Way in Andromeda ... But we also don't have to go right to raising the stakes to - you know, two hours in 'hey, you've got this best friend and this best friend, which one do you want to die and which one do you want to survive?" Walters told the magazine, reports Games Radar.
Walters added that there will be ample opportunity for space exploration as "Mass Effect: Andromeda" won't be an open-world game but an "exploration-based" title. Producer Michael Gamble, also speaking to OXM, explained that a player will still find "the concept of tight story deliverance and all the great things you come to expect with Mass Effect. The layer on top of that is a layer of exploration." It's definitely not a typical sandbox kind of a game and players can hop into Nomad to explore some planets.
According to Express, BioWare recently revealed its plans to drop the Paragon and Renegade conversation options in favor of a new system that will focus on agreeing and disagreeing with statements, making players think of potential ramifications. "Mass Effect: Andromeda" will also be able to use different tones of voice allowing players to express themselves in various ways.
