Details Of The Moto G5 And G5 Plus ‘Accidentally’ Leaked By A Spanish Retailer
Cris Xander JulianoPhone manufacturers often times do their best to keep their yet to be released devices a secret from the public as it chooses the right time to unveil it. Sometimes however, even the biggest efforts are not enough and leaked devices are showing up left and right on the internet. Like in this case, a Spanish retailer KTRONIX accidentally published the details of the upcoming Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus, ahead of its scheduled announcement at the Mobile World Congress 2017.
According to Slash Gear, the leak showed that both the Moto G5 and G5 Plus adopted the new circular shape for its camera lens much like the Moto 360 smartwatch. The Moto G5 is given a more rounded rectangular shape for its home button and it might have been built of metal instead of last year's plastic, although this isn't confirmed.
The leak also showed some of the phones' specs. The Moto G5 will be powered by a mid-range Qualcomm Snapdragon 430, while the G5 Plus will boast a Snapdragon 625. Both devices will sport 2GB of RAM but different internal storages, with the G5 having 32GB while the G5 Plus have 64GB. Both will have the fingerprint scanner. However, the NFC will be missing on the G5.
The Moto G series has always taken a back seat when it comes to design compared to the Moto Z. However, the G5 have enough changes from the G4 to make it more interesting.
The full details of the G5 and G5 Plus are expected to be officially unveiled at the Mobile World Congress that is scheduled this month in Barcelona Spain.
