‘Nioh’ Glitch Deletes Saved Data Upon Creating A Character [VIDEO]
Pia MerciA potential game-breaking bug has been said to be persistent in "Nioh." So far, this error has resulted in a serious loss of saved files, as reported by a number of players.
As per Eurogamer, there have been numerous posts on Reddit and NeoGAF about players who have been losing their progress. In some cases, the game is said to overwrite the previous data whenever a new character is created. The character's level is no exception, whether it's high-level or not.
Modern game designs supposedly lets its players save multiple files. But with "Nioh" it appears to supersede players' existing save when making a new character. Reportedly, it doesn't even warn players that it does such a thing. Users claim that this might be just a glitch.
The bug seems to affect only some unfortunate players. Redditor Unkempt_Herald lost a level 98 character. The Redditor mentioned that there was no indication that the game would be deleting his old character. He assumed that he could just load it whenever he wanted to play that character again.
Cosmo-Knight and Brentalina fell into the same dilemma. The latter said that for a couple of days, he was playing both of his characters well. But, as he checked, both of the saved files are already of the same character. His original character seemed to have disappeared.
Players are cautioned to be very careful when planning to start a new character. They might as well back up their data by saving it to an external storage device. More so, some of the players who have lost their progress were advised to try downloading a save file uploaded to the cloud via PlayStation Plus. However, several of them reported that this did not resolve the issue, GameSpot reported.
