‘Payday 3’ Production Has Officially Begun; Announces Starbreeze CEO
CJ EstimadaStarbreeze Studios has recently revealed to investors that development for "Payday 3" has fnally begun. "Payday 3" is the most important thing on Starbreeze's radar, according to CEO Bo Andersson Klint, and it is with great satisfaction that they can announce that its production has officially kicked off.
"Payday 3" Marks A Milestone
"This is our single most important brand today and the cornerstone of our business and we will treat it accordingly. Updates in the near future might be infrequent and far between. You simply don't rush 'Payday 3'," says Klint in a report by IGN.
Klint said he does not want to reveal any details about the game, but is limited to specifying that Overkill Software will take the necessary time to provide players with a quality product. As of now, there is no timeframe on the launch.
"Payday 3" is a sequel to the co-op heist shooter series "Payday 2," which has been on a roll since Starbreeze acquired the rights to the entire franchise. It is a cooperative first-person shooter video game developed by Overkill Software and published by 505 Games.
Starbreeze's Continuous Support For The Game
According to GamingBolt, "Payday 2" has been a huge success for Starbreeze and its Overkill studio. Nonstop content and support from the team has overcome stumbling blocks, like sacking the unwanted aspects, hugely unpopular micro-transactions and abandoned console ports. It also enabled a lively community which, obviously, coughs up money in huge dripping wads given Starbreeze's description of the IP's as its cornerstone brand.
"We expect 505 to have reached their $5 million recoup in Q1m2017 as we see impressive Payday performance through digital distribution on consoles following the latest update" Klint added. Starbreeze takes 100% of all PC proceeds on the Payday franchise, and calls this revenue source as "healthy."
It's been almost four years since "Payday 2" released, so it's no surprise to hear that Overkill software is at work on its follow-up "Payday 3." For more info on "Payday 3" developments, keep posted here for updates.
