'Fallout 4' VR Still Happening; Game Is Now Playable From Beginning To End In VR
Keisuke Akio"Fallout 4" VR is currently in the works. The game is reportelyd in its development stage and at a point where it can be played from start to finish.
Bethesda confirmed during the 2016 E3 that a "Fallout 4" VR version is in development. The company has not released any information about the project for the past months. Recently, however, it confirmed that the project's development is going well.
Bethesda's Todd Howard, in an interview with Glixel about the development of "Fallout 4 VR," revealed that everything is going smoothly. He disclosed that there are still a lot of work to do, but that it has reached a stage where it can be played in VR from beginning to end.
In addition, Howard discussed the challenges of developing "Fallout 4" VR version. He noted that the interface is working great but there is still some alteration to do for locomotion, one of the major issues to overcome for VR games development.
In developing a VR game, there will be many challenges, especially on porting a game designed as a traditional first-person game into a virtual reality environment. When he was asked about this, he said that the "Fallout 4" VR works because of the interface. According to Wccftech, Howard also acknowledged the fact that the gunplay in the game, which is a bit slower compared to others has even helped them with VATS.
In "Fallout 4" VR, they integrated the VATS or the Vault-Tec Assisted Targeting System. With this, you can pause or slow down the world. Howard described the VATS as the factor that enables you to freeze real time battle and hit precise areas of enemies prior to unfreezing the action and observing it play out.
The upcoming "Fallout 4" VR releases on a yet to be confirmed date. We will keep you updated as soon as we receive more information about the game.
