'Horizon Zero Dawn' Review: Guerrilla's Open-World Action-RPG Could Be One Of Current Generation Best Open-World Games; Here's Why [VIDEO]
Vinay Patel"Horizon Zero Dawn" is just days away from hitting the store shelves and as expected, trailers, gameplays and reviews have started to find their ways on the internet ahead of the game's Feb. 28 release date.
Guerrilla Games' upcoming action-RPG, "Horizon Zero Dawn" is a PlayStation 4-exclusive, which boasts some uber cool cyborg animals and a jaw-dropping open world. Avid gamers have already been given a brief glimpse of the game in the form of some new gameplay and latest trailer.
"Horizon Zero Dawn" has also been subject to a slew of rumors and leaks as more and more details about the upcoming game continue to surface online. Several gaming analysts and critics have come out with "Horizon Zero Dawn" reviews. Let's check out what some of them think about the upcoming action role-playing video game.
'Horizon Zero Dawn' Reviews: What Are Game Analysts Saying
"Horizon Zero Dawn" marks the game developer's first diversion from the "Killzone" series, and though it looks like Guerrilla Games might have taken a risk by deviating from its FPS (first-person shooter) comfort zone in favor of third-person open-world action game, it will be hard to tell this was their first foray into FPS type of video games, according to GameSpot, which rates "Horizon Zero Dawn" 9/10 in it's the latest review. The publication deems "Horizon Zero Dawn" as one of the current generation's best open-world games.
Meanwhile, another "Horizon Zero Dawn" review from IGN claims that the game competently shuffles a slew of moving parts keeping the title's pivotal activity i.e. combat extremely satisfying. The publication attributes this to the different design and action of machine-creatures that wander about its land, each of which needs to be put down with careful planning. IGN rates the game 9.3/10.
While there's still scope for improvement as far as side-questing is concerned, "Horizon Zero Dawn's" missions are quite fascinating as a result of a central mystery, that IGN's Lucy O'Brien claims led her down a deep-seated rabbit hole to quite an unexpected and moving end.
As "Horizon Zero Dawn" release date loom up, more details regarding the game are likely to make an appearance online. The game will release in Europe and Australia on March 1. In the meantime, check out the video footage and share your thoughts in the comments section below!
