'Pokemon GO' Guide: How To Evolve Steelix And Scizor, Tips On Getting Metal Coat

JP

The recent "Pokemon GO" update added the much awaited Gen 2 Pokemon in the game. With the addition of 80 more pocket monsters, new items and evolutions were also introduced.

One of the new items introduced in the "Pokemon GO" Gen 2 update is the metal coat. Those who have played the main Pokemon games already have an idea what the metal coat does.

In the main Pokemon games, the metal coat is used to evolve particular Pokemon. This includes evolving Onix into Steelix and Scyther into Scizor.

Evolving Onix into Steelix and Scyther into Scizor in the main Pokemon game is a bit tedious. Aside from the necessary metal coat evolution item, a trainer must also seek for a trade partner.

In order to get Steelix or Scizor, a trainer must let Onix or Scyther hold the metal coat when trading them to another trainer. However, this trading system is not available in "Pokemon Go"

POKEMON GO Gen 2: Where To Find Metal Coat

Like any other "Pokemon GO" items, the metal coat can be found in PokeStops. To increase the chances of getting an evolutionary item, a trainer must check the PokeStop on the seventh day of the trainer's PokeStop daily bonus streak.

Currently, there are five evolutionary items in "Pokemon GO." Getting the metal coat in one of the seventh-day visits is highly probable.

Pokemon GO Gen 2: How To Evolve Onix Into Steelix And Scyther Into Scizor

Evolving Onix into Steelix and Scyther into Scizor in "Pokemon GO" necessitates the same requirements. Both evolutions need a metal coat. Aside from the metal coat, the evolutions also require 50 Pokemon Candies.

To evolve Onix into Steelix or Scyther into Scizor in "Pokemon Go", a trainer must go with the similar process of how ordinary evolutions are made in the game. The metal coat and 50 candies will be consumed in the evolution.
