'The Last Of Us 2' Spoilers: Creative Director Confirms No Favorable Ending For The Sequel; Game Story; Watch Trailer
Keisuke AkioThe upcoming game "The Last Of Us 2" will not have a happy ending. The game's creative director Niel Druckmann, who also shared some spoilers, revealed this sad news.
No Happy Ending for "The Last of Us 2"
Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth, via Starzpost, conducted an interview with Niel Druckmann recently. During the interview, "The Last Of Us 2" creative director confirmed that the game would revolve around hate. This is an entirely opposite concept from the previous game's overall theme of love.
Druckmann added that "The Last Of Us 2" would focus on the cycle of violence and hatred. The statement came with an assurance that Druckmann may not even write a happy ending for "The Last Of Us 2." The use of the word happy is comparative to what Druckmann and the rest of the staff at Naughty Dog thinks. Ellie and Joel being together in the first game can be considered as a good ending.
It is important to take note that Naughty Dog has a history of misleading fans. Druckmann admitted in a PlayStation Magazine interview that the trailer for the first game was meant to mislead players. The particular trailer showed Joel struggling on the floor with Ellie pointing a gun at him. The initial theory is that Joel may be infected at some point in the story. However, this never made to the actual game. The same tactic may possibly happen in the upcoming game sequel, "The Last Of Us 2."
Ellie-Centered Gameplay
The upcoming game "The Last Of Us 2" could possibly have an interesting gameplay element. It was speculated that players will be able to control Ellie, with Joel being a side character or a ghost.
In addition, Ellie's particular prominence in the trailer indicates that it may be her turn to be the eyes and ears of the players. Her growth reflects that a few years have passed since the previous installment and a lot may have happened in between, says Video Games Republic.
Release Date
Naughty Dog may hopefully release more details about "The Last Of Us 2" in the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) which will take place between June 14 and 16. The game was revealed in the PlayStation Experience 2016 last year and many fans are expecting that "The Last Of Us 2" may arrive very soon.
