Square Enix has just announced a new studio that will be working on a new title. The Tokyo-based Studio Istolia will be making an RPG game as their first project. Known as "Project Prelude Rune," here's what we know about the game so far.

Square Enix first announced the news on Tuesday, February 21. Studio Istolia will be headed by Hideo Baba. He was a former producer in Bandai Namco and had worked on "Tales" series. JRPG fans are more or less familiar with the franchise. It's 16th installment, "Tales of Berseria" was first released worldwide last month.

Apart from heading Studio Istolia, Hideo Baba will also be producing the new game, "Project Prelude Rune." The project "aims to build a new RPG with a new fantasy: unfolding across a vast land teeming with life," according to Square Enix's official statement. "Nurtured by the earth, the many peoples of this land dare to dream, fighting for what is just -- and this is their tale," the statement also read.

As of writing, this is the only news about "Project Prelude Rune." However, Square Enix assured fans that they will be releasing more about the game some time later.

Besides "Project Prelude Rune's" aim, Square Enix has only attached a couple of concept art for the game. One showed a woman, likely an elf by her pointy ears, wearing a long white gown and holding what seems to be a sword. She's accompanied by a great dragon.

The other showed a landscape portrait with a dragon, a big and probably magical tree, floating islands and warrior and her horse watching the view. Square Enix has not announced any platforms or launch window for the game.

Studio Istolia's name was derived from the Greek word for "story" according to Polygon. Their aim is to give unforgettable stories that can inspire players. They also hope to bring new gaming experiences to every player around the world.
