'God of War 4' News: Amazon Listing Leaks Game's Release Date on PS4, PS4 Pro Platforms
JEVMany will agree that "God of War 4" is among the highly anticipated titles to arrive as Sony's exclusive franchise. It is already confirmed for release but no launch window was attached to it just yet. So, that apparently keeps the fans on the lookout for any clue on when they'd be able to experience Kratos' next adventure.
But a recent development spotted online may have pointed to the fact that Sony is planning for a 2017 release date for "God of War 4". On Amazon store page, fans have noticed the listing, which indicates that the game will hit the PS4 and PS Pro consoles on December 29, 2017.
The hint was quickly picked up by eagle-eyed fans from a survey that the giant retailer has posted for fans, asking what game are they excited to play this 2017. It is noted that there are three options, namely "God of War 4", "Horizon Zero Dawn" and "Red Dead Redemption 2".
Sony is set to launch "Horizon Zero Dawn" on Tuesday, Feb. 28, in North America then March 1 in Europe. For Rockstar fans, "Red Dead Redemption 2" is given a launch window in fall this year.
But "God of War 4" as one of the choices does not have a release date or launch window contrary to two 2017 titles. Case in point, it appears that the new GOW game is also slated for release this year.
Then again, this remains a speculation until Sony Santa Monica Studio will make an official announcement to validate this claim. But what is more important for many fans is how the game developer is hard at work to deliver an awesome sequel to the hugely popular game series, as per Segment Next.
It did take a number of years for the PlayStation flagship franchise before its return was confirmed at E3 2016, where the teaser trailer spurred excitement of fans who have longed for the follow-up to "God of War: Ascension" launched in 2013 for PS3.
Despite the remastered version released for the series, lots of fans have demanded for "God of War 4" since. It appears the wait will hopefully take a few more months for Norse Mythology enthusiasts to play Kratos and his son on PS4 and PS4 Pro.
