‘Ghost Recon: Wildlands’ Open Beta: Ubisoft Reveals Rollout Schedule; More Open Beta Details
Arianne GiftThe highly anticipated open beta for "Ghost Recon: Wildlands" went live yesterday, Feb. 23. Here's what you need to know about the special event, as revealed by Ubisoft.
Previously, Ubisoft has released the schedules for "Ghost Recon: Wildlands'" open beta in different time zones. In a report by VG24/7, the open beta goes live at 3 a.m. PST, 6 a.m. EST, 11 a.m. GMT, or 12 a.m. CET.
The "Ghost Recon: Wildlands" open beta will run from Feb. 23 through Feb. 27. In this period, players can try out their luck in parts specifically unlocked for beta testing. This allows fans to get their hands on the game before it launches next month, March 7.
In the open beta, two regions of "Ghost Recon: Wildlands" will be available for players to explore. The first one is Itacua, the same area made available for the closed beta, and Mantuyoc, another region made available for the public beta.
Apart from those two regions unlocked for the beta test, there will be 19 more regions to be opened when "Ghost Recon: Wildlands" releases on March. Players of the game are up for an immersive experience, in what Ubisoft calls the largest open world maps it has ever created.
Along with "Ghost Recon: Wildlands'" 21 regions overall, there will also be 11 biomes in the game. Each biome is unique and contains its own set of animals and climates. The diversity of the inhabitants is one feature of the game's enormous open world that fans should watch out for.
Meanwhile, GameSpot reports that the game will have non-playable characters to be brought to life by AI. According to Technical Art Director Benoit Martinez, these NPCs in "Ghost Recon: Wildlands" will be living their own lives inside the game whether a gamer chooses to interact with them or not.
Ubisoft also released details of the "Ghost Recon: Wildlands" beta download file size. Players will need to have at least 24 GB free space on their platform of choice. For PC gamers who have previously participated in the closed beta, they will only need to download a 19 GB update.
