'Final Fantasy 7' Remake Might Not Possibly Have HD Collection; Game Director Explains Why

Following the success of "Final Fantasy XV," Square Enix is planning to release "Final Fantasy 7" Remake. This is so far good news for fans of the game; however, the game developers are still considering its HD Collection. In an interview with Finaland, Tetsuya Nomura disclosed that including the "Final Fantasy 7" HD Collection in the remake would be difficult for the reason that there is no more continuity between the two. Both games, the Compilation and the Remake, would not have an overall constancy since the two would not have a connection.

In the same interview, the game director also revealed that "Final Fantasy 7" Remake would indeed contain several changes but it would keep the essence of its universe. Fans can still anticipate to see the main characters, Cloud Strife and Sephiroth in the game. The "Final Fantasy 7" Remake features the life of Cloud Strife who enlists in the AVALANCHE eco-terrorist group to fight against the Shinra Corporation. On the other hand, Sephiroth, the main antagonist of the game, came from the Shinra Corporation as a result of an experiment.

"Final Fantasy 7" became one of the most successful games in the series. It was first release in 1997 on the original PlayStation and the game produced mini-franchises soon after that. It stemmed to the several spin-off games that existed in other platforms. Among these are Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7 for the PlayStation Portable, Dirge of Cerberus for the PlayStation 2. It also has a mobile game version, Before Crisis: Final Fantasy 7, reported Video Games Republic.
Square Enix has yet to reveal the official release date of the "Final Fantasy 7" Remake. It is however, clear that the game will be first released in PlayStation 4.
