'Better Call Saul' Season 3 Update: Bob Odenkirk Hints at a Slightly Different Saul Goodman in New Episodes
Charles LimThe transition of the morally compromised and albeit naive small time lawyer, James Morgan "Jimmy" McGill, played by Bob Odenkirk, into his alter-ego Saul Goodman is now well underway. The past two seasons of "Better Call Saul" had shown what the character had to go through and how he was continually faced with moral dilemmas that ultimately changed his perspective.
The next season of the hit crime television series, "Better Call Saul," is set to finally feature that transformation. However, the actor himself has now revealed that audiences will be seeing a slightly different Saul Goodman from the one they saw on "Breaking Bad."
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Odenkirk revealed that fans are going to be seeing an entirely different Saul Goodman when "Better Call Saul" season 3 is released. Odenkirk mentioned on Wednesday at an event in Berlin that the new season will be revealing the real Saul Goodman to fans for the first time since the show had started.
However, unlike the slime ball lawyer from "Breaking Bad," fans are apparently going to be seeing a slightly different version of the character when the show arrives. Aside from talking about his character, Odenkirk also revealed that Giancarlo Esposito's Gus Fring will not just become a cameo appearance in the new season, but instead the upcoming new episodes will be exploring his budding drug business and how exactly he builds it up to become an empire.
The spin-off prequel of "Breaking Bad" will be taking place approximately six years before Saul Goodman's appearance on the show. Due to the direct connection with the hit television series, several characters from "Breaking Bad" are expected to be featured. The show itself mainly focuses on Jimmy's transition to becoming Saul Goodman and his involvement in the drug trade.
The critically acclaimed television series "Better Call Saul" is set to premiere its 10-episode third season on April 10. The show will be premiered on AMC in the U.S. and on Netflix worldwide.
