The recently launched hybrid console from Nintendo is again gaining heat. This time, Nintendo Switch users have been very vocal about the console's cartridge claiming that it tastes bad.

An interesting phenomenon is making a ripple over the Internet recently. Nintendo Switch's cartridge gets the spotlight this time. The console's cartridge according to some users tastes so bitter that it triggered other users to taste it for themselves. The news of the latest console's game cards being bitter sparked a series of personal taste tests. Those who do not have the game cards yet can get the idea of what is in store for them from the recent reactions flooding online.

Interestingly, Nintendo Switch game cards were not designed to even reach anyone's mouth. Any person in their right mind should not blame the company for giving it a bitter taste. Nintendo probably has foreseen this coming, has coated the cartridges with a chemical compound known as Denatonium Benzoate. This is in a way a preventive measure of some kind so as to prevent the children or any person from swallowing or choking them.

In a report by Kotaku, Nintendo said that in order to avoid the likelihood of accidental ingestion, the Nintendo Switch game card must be put away from young children. A bittering agent (Denatonium Benzoate) as mentioned above, has also been applied to the game card, which is non-toxic.

The chemical Denatonium Benzoate is actually used in products like liquid soaps, shampoos, animal repellents, antifreeze, and solutions to prevent nail biting. And since according to Nintendo the substance is non-toxic, parents can rest easy that their children will not be harmed when accidentally tasted.

The simple moral of Nintendo Switch game card is that there are things not meant to be tasted or consumed that it is not good if put in the mouth. Most probably, Nintendo is telling just the same to everyone with the application of the bittering agent to the cartridges.
