Tech buffs who have been clamoring for the next installment in Microsoft's lauded Surface line were left disappointed at this year's MWC (Mobile World Congress) as the Redmond-based tech giant did not even mention the Surface Pro 5 at the recently concluded Barcelona event; however, tech enthusiasts should not lose hope just yet, and here's why!

According to acclaimed Microsoft analyst Paul Thurrott, Microsoft will come out with the Surface Pro 5 sometime in spring this year. Despite its absence at MWC 2017, and lack of an official announcement, multiple sources suggest the company is indeed gearing up to take the wraps off its new Surface Pro device.

The popular software maker will be rolling out the next colossal Windows 10 update dubbed, the Windows 10 Creators Update, in April. Now, PC Advisor believes that Microsoft could actually be waiting for the Windows 10 Creators Update to roll out before it unveils the Surface Pro 5.

Microsoft Surface Pro 5 Specifications & Features

While Microsoft continues to remain tight-lipped regarding new Surface Pro's specs, features, and other details, the rumor mill has been churning all sorts of speculations regarding the device's functionalities and aesthetics, some of which could even hold ground.

Under the hood, the Surface Pro 5 is expected to pack Intel's newfangled Kaby Lake Processor, which will be allegedly coupled with 16GB of RAM. Furthermore, the device's Windows 10 OS (operating system) will be working flawlessly with an equally competent processor, according to The Christian Post.

Aside from that, the Surface Pro 5 will boast company-patented rechargeable Surface Pen and Dock. Moreover, the device is said to come with a 4K detachable screen. A couple of other features that are likely to give the Surface Pro 5 an edge over similar products include the HoloLens support and the Surface Dial.

Nothing is set in stone yet; however, more details about the long-rumored successor to the Surface Pro 4 are likely to find their way on the internet in near future. Watch this space for more Surface Pro 5 news and updates!
