Tag Heuer has now confirmed the official launch date of their previously announced Tag Heuer Connected smartwatch follow up. The luxury Swiss watchmaker previously announced that it was going to immediately be releasing the successor to its first smartwatch sometime within the year. Based on the company's new social media campaign, it seems like the company was really serious about the launch being immediate.

Tag Heuer recently published a slew of posters and teasers on their different social media profiles, which invited fans, tech enthusiast, and the press to their big launch event for the new Tag Heuer Connected smartwatch. The event itself, which will be showcasing the unveiling of the new smartwatch, is set to take place tomorrow, March 14.

Not much is really known about the second generation Tag Heuer Connected smartwatch, apart from it sporting the latest Android Wear 2.0 operating system. The teasers that the company has released isn't much help either, as it does not really reveal any details about the smartwatch apart from its unveiling date.

According to a report from VR-Zone, the company's CEO Jean-Claude Biver had previously teased that the upcoming new model will be getting a number of improvements compared to the previous model. Some of the upgrades that were apparently mentioned were better battery life, better display, GPS, and a number of new connectivity options. Unfortunately, none of the aforementioned improvements were detailed.

Tag Heuer's first Tag Heuer Connected smartwatch experienced immense success as the company reportedly shipped more than 56,000 units. Considering that the watch itself costs a whopping $1,500 each, that figure is quite amazing. The company also previously declared that the sales number they generated were quite unexpected. It isn't quite clear just yet if the next Tag Heuer Connected model would be priced the same as the first one, but several fans are hoping that the company would make it more affordable this time around.
