MacBook Pro 2017 Latest News: Upcoming Device Design Would Be Less Interesting; Apple Chose To Use Old Hardware Design & Features

The highly anticipated MacBook Pro 2017 will use the old design of its predecessor. This is in contrast with several speculations that the upcoming device would feature impressive design and reimagined hardware.

MacBook Pro would still be using the Kaby Lake instead of Cannonlake, which some reports stated. Late last year, Apple shipped Kaby Lake and it is believable that the company will still be using the same chip for the rest of Apple Mac lineup. Cannonlake will just be released next year and having it under the Macbook Pro has a tiny possibility. This will make MacBook Pro 2017 a step behind, according to a report from ComputerWorld.

The Cupertino-based company has been taking its product's price tag a higher notch without providing users substantial upgrades on their devices. Apple could increase the MacBook Pro's memory up to 32GB but it stuck on 16GB RAM, says MacWorld.

To answer this, Phil Schiller clarified through an email that having a huge RAM is not needed by the MacBook Pro for it is already fast by just having a 16GB RAM. With this statement, it is expected for the MacBook Pro to have the same memory capacity. Apple will just provide a slicker and slimmer design and provide longer battery life for more power efficiency. In addition, the Cupertino-based tech giant reportedly will release the MacBook Pro equipped with an OLED display. This will allegedly replace the MacBook Air with a 13-inch MacBook pro dropping the Touch Bar, says MacRumours.

On the other hand, the upcoming release of iPad 2017 might give some clue what MacBook Pro would look like. The now affordable iPad 2017 costs $469 only, with slight improvement. This price would be tempting for it is the cheapest among the Apple's model. The company might apply the same aspect to the upcoming MacBook Pro.
