Nexus 6P Latest News & Update: Device Received The Pixel-Exclusive Android 7.1.2 Nougat Update
Keisuke AkioNexus 6P is still relevant in the smartphone arena. The device proves its significance while it is being outmoded by Google Pixel phones.
While it is still unclear as to the reason behind Google cutting ties with Nexus, the latter still claim relevance in the industry dominated by Google Pixel and Pixel XL devices. With the rolling out of Android 7.1.2 Nougat update, the Nexus 6P is one of the numerous devices that will receive the latest update from the search engine giant.
When Google launched the Nexus 6P, it was marketed as the only device that provides total android experience capturing the interest of numerous consumers in a market dominated by Apple. A couple of years later, Google introduced the Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones. This time the company attached its name on these devices and exclusively equipped it with Android 7.1 Nougat, offering ultimate experience with top specs and premium prices.
While the Pixel devices along with the Samsung S Series devices take over the Android leadership in the smartphone arena, Google surprised everyone. The tech giant rolls out Pixel-exclusive features through the Android 7.1 Nougat to Nexus 6P. In addition, the company as part of its previous contract with the Nexus devices regularly release to Nexus devices security updates. This is still ongoing even though the company already announced its severance of ties with Nexus.
According to Express, Android 7.1.2 Nougat update was released to Nexus 6P. Several improvements were rolled out including fixes to notification stability, fingerprint swipe, battery usage, and general connectivity. The update also enhanced the Bluetooth connectivity, fingerprint swipe performance as well as battery usage alerts.
Although this update was rolled out to the Nexus 6P, other devices from the company were not able to avail such update. This includes the Nexus 5X and the Nexus Player. Other devices that were not included with the roll out of the update include Nexus 6 and Nexus 9. As long as Google rolls out update for the Nexus 6P, the device will remain significant in the smartphone arena.
