Lenovo Flex 11 Chromebook Release Date, Specifications, Price & Availability [VIDEO]
Vinay PatelIf rumors running rampant online are anything to go by, Lenovo is gearing up to launch a Chromebook with a 360-degree hinge and ARM hardware under the hood. Dubbed as Lenovo Flex 11, the Beijing-based tech firm's latest Chromebook is said to offer a resourceful and sturdy design for an affordable price.
Lenovo Flex 11 Chromebook Release Date, Price & Availability
Word has it that Lenovo will take the wraps off its new Chromebook this month, and the device will come bearing a price tag of $279. The Flex 11 Chromebook from Lenovo seems like a compelling alternative for the budget-conscious buyers who can't go for the high-priced Chromebook Plus from Samsung or Microsoft's upcoming Surface Pro 5, which is also rumored to hit the store shelves this month.
There's no word regarding whether or not the Flex 11 Chromebook will be up for grabs in the UK or AU.
Lenovo Flex 11 Chromebook Sturdy Design
The Chromebooks boasts a decent battery life, allowing users to access a slew of Android apps without worrying about carrying a high-priced and fragile device around when traveling, according to AndroidPolice's Ryne Hager. Furthermore, the Flex 11 is quite identical to Lenovo's latest offerings, particularly concentrating on addressing a major concern.
When it comes to traveling around the city, users don't have to treat the new laptop like a child thanks to the device's enhanced drop-resistance (from 2.4 feet). Furthermore, it comes with a water-resistant keyboard and features a sealed touchpad.
Lenovo Flex 11 Chromebook Specifications & Features
Lenovo's latest 2-in-1 convertible laptop sports an 11.6-inch touchscreen with 1366 x 768 pixels resolution. A 2.1GHz quad-core ARM processor will be firing up Lenovo's Flex 11. Aside from Chrome, the Flex 11 was designed keeping Android apps in mind, and it will be offering the Google Play Store sooner rather than later.
Lenovo Flex 11 Chromebook packs 4GB of RAM with 32GB of storage, which seems quite acceptable at this price point, according to TheVerge. The laptop is backed by a 10-hour battery life and offers an SD card slot, HDMI, regular USB and USB-C as connectivity options. The device weighs in at three pounds.
The Lenovo Flex 11 features a "multimode" built-in 360-degree hinge allowing users to operate it in several ways: It can be opened like a regular laptop, propped up like a tent or even folded like a tablet. For such a simple laptop, the Flex 11 boasts impressive sturdiness that is built into its form factor.
For instance, the Flex 11's water-resistant keyboard is capable of taking a big spill (about 220ml of water) and it features channels below it that remove liquid from electrical components. Besides, the Flex 11's reinforced ports and sealed touchpad guards the device against any sort of damage in case a spill occurs, CNet reported.
Featuring non-slip texture on the cover, the Lenovo Flex 11 offers a strong grip when carrying it around.
