The news about Apple's upcoming redesigned phone is getting louder each day. The people in the mobile phone industry believe that iPhone 8 will be launched in September, however, the delay in its production might cause a problem.

The tenth-anniversary phone of Apple might have a supply shortage after the time it will be unveiled. According to the report published by KGI analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, it is more likely that Apple will launch iPhone 8 this September but severe supply shortages of the device for some time is inevitable. This is due to delay in production of OLED iPhone which will just begin probably in October to November.

The rumors about this production delay were also believed to be possible by Blomberg, as well as Barclay's analysts and Brian White. If it is true, then Apple will be to months behind of their last year's ramp ups, which previously happened in August to September. Even Mac Otakara, a Japanese site, suggested that the OLED iPhone 8 will be launched much later than the LCD models, reported Mac Rumors.

Kuo also added that the demand might last until the first quarter next year. This would be the time when a large number of mobile phone users could actually own the device. He further explained that this would also result in potential downside risk to shipments and this may affect the three iPhone models that are supposed to be unveiled this year.

Business Insider reported that another risk may be brought by the company's competitors. This year the tech giants such as Samsung, OPPO, Huawei, Xiaomi, and Vivo are setting their feet in the starting line, waiting for the go signal to launch their high-end full-screen smart phones. The LCD iPhone models will be behind, for the lack of full-screen features. The worst case scenario of this situation would be the decrease of shipment of iPhone by 15-20 percent, which will eventually result to 80-90 million shipped units, unlike last year's 100-110 million units.

According to Wccftech, Apple fans might compromise with the delay, considering that it will be caused by the device's intricate design and the manufacturing process will take up more time. It is sad that iPhone 8 will have several upgrades like the customized OLED panel, new 10-nanometer A11 processor, substrate-like printed circuit board, all new 3D Touch and 3D sensing.
