BlackBerry KEYone Latest News: Release Date & Price Confirmed At Selfridges Launch In London

The new Android phone of BlackBerry is finally out. Blackberry KEYone with a customary physical keyboard is now available in the United Kingdom.

BlackBerry first introduced the KEYone last February during the Mobile World Congress and after two months, the company revealed it at an event in London. Launching this new device might a giant move for the company that seems to have a self-re-launch in the mobile market nowadays. However, the device will on be sold exclusively by Selfridges, an iconic department store located on the Oxford Street, says Express.

The store is offering the Blackberry KEYone at a discounted price of only £499. The device will be available throughout the UK from the 5th of May. It can be purchased at the Carphone Warehouse and other networks in the UK will carry the KEYone as their new device soon. Though Blackberry already said this, but until now, they haven't named the carriers who would endorse also the KEYone, reported Mirror.

BlackBerry stated during the event in London that the new device they are offering will disrupt the mobile market in the UK for it will hand out something different to the users. Gareth Hurn, the Global Head of Device Portfolio of BlackBerry stated that the KEYone will bring everything together and when it comes to style and function it is perfectly balanced. He also added that the device looks and feels premium. KEYone comes with the iconic physical BlackBerry QWERTY keyboard and with its major intelligence upgrade, exquisite touchscreen display, and metal body, it is considered as a melange of classic BlackBerry design and new technological influences.

According to Forbes, under its hood is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor and run by Android 7.1 Nougat. Together with its 3505mAh battery is Qualcomm's Quick Charge 3.0 which enables to have the phone a 50 percent battery charge in just 36 minutes. It also comes with a 12MP rear camera, which uses the Sony IMX378 camera sensor. As it is run by Android 7.1 Nougat, the KEYone will be provided by the most up to date mobile software tools from Google and with the DTEK security software of BlackBerry, the company claims that it is the most secure Android phone in the world.
