LG's latest flagship smartphone - Optimus G - is launching in November on AT&T as well as Sprint.
The Optimus G is receiving the top spotlight in the Android world for being the first mass-produced smartphone with Qualcomm's latest S4 Pro chipset. The quad-core 1.5GHz processor makes it one of the most powerful mobile phone in the market. Rumors claim the Optimus G as a blueprint for the next Nexus smartphone.
AT&T unwrapped the Optimus G as their "first LTE quad core phone" last week. On Monday, Oct. 15, AT&T announced that it will start selling the device starting Nov. 2.
"In the case of the LG Optimus G, the 1.5 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, 2GB RAM and AT&T's 4G LTE network means this phone can fly," Kiran Kalakuntla, senior product marketing manager at AT&T, wrote in a blog post.
Sprint will also start selling the device next month. An official statement from Sprint is still pending. However, folks at Android Police confirmed with Sprint that the Optimus G will be available on the carrier on Nov. 11.
The Optimus G is priced at $199 on 2-year contract, across both the carrier, but Sprint gains weight by offering 13-megapixel sensor in the phone, while AT&T's variant will instead arrive with 8-megapixel rear camera.
"Advanced features on Optimus G like QSlide and Live Zooming were made possible thanks to the powerful specs under the hood. Q Slide lets the user utilize two apps at once through the use of overlay multilevel viewing. Want to send a text message while watching a movie? No problem," KalaKuntla added.
LG Optimus G is available for preorders from AT&T, starting Oct. 16. In the case of Sprint, preorders are due to go live on Nov. 1.
