Microsoft recently launched its Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8 (WP8) platforms and with their introduction, Samsung debuted its ATIV line-up of Windows-based devices. Samsung's ATIV portfolio of devices includes the ATIV S smartphone, ATIV Smart PC, ATIV Smart PC Pro, and ATIV Tab and the Korean company has released a commercial that showcases the ATIV devices.
Earlier in August this year, Samsung's EVP of IT Solutions Business Seong Woo Namhad averred that "Samsung is delighted to introduce a wide portfolio of Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8-powered devices. With our leadership in design and technology and Microsoft's leadership in operating systems, together we are able to provide customers with a full range of ATIV devices for cross-category convergence."
The new Samsung commercial is nearly two minutes in duration (one minute forty-nine seconds to be precise) and shows how a business user could use the ATIV S, ATIV Smart PC Pro, and ATIV Tab in their day-to-day life.
The advertisement shows a man who appears to be an executive and is in a meeting. He picks up his phone while simultaneously working on his Samsung ATIV Smart PC Pro, a notebook PC/tablet hybrid that has a "revolutionary convertible design." He attends to the call to learn "we're in trouble" and rushes off from the meeting, lifting the tablet off the keyboard as he flees. The next shot show the executive sitting inside a taxi and working on finalizing a client report on the ATIV Smart PC with his S Pen stylus. He is then shown calling a colleague who is vacationing on an island. The colleague picks up the call on his ATIV S WP8 phone and learns "we're having some problems and need your help." He responds with a "yes" and is seen working furiously on the phone. The executive, in the meantime, is shown traveling in the taxi and the client is shown entering the office and greeting other executives.
Meanwhile, another employee is shown in a crowded foreign locale and is looking at maps on her tablet. She gets a notification on her ATIV Tab that her help is urgently solicited and she needs to send the PowerPoint files across. She is shown sending the document across and the executive is seen rushing into the meeting. As he reaches the office the commercial shows that the file transfers to his device are complete. He walks into the client meeting and sets up his laptop on a new keyboard and begins the presentation.
"Samsung's ATIV devices are simple, powerful, and beautiful" and both Samsung and Microsoft aim to provide users with an "advanced, productive and creative experience" with the ATIV line-up of devices. The ATIV devices are expected to hit the shelves in November and December.
