Customers in the UK will now be able to purchase two new Android products from Samsung, as the Korean company brings the Android-powered Galaxy camera and the smaller version of the best-selling Galaxy S3 smartphone, the Galaxy S3 Mini, to the country.
The Galaxy S3 Mini smartphone hit UK shelves on Nov. 8 and the Galaxy Camera is due to land on Nov. 12.
Samsung's Galaxy Camera is available for preorder at Clove and Expansys with price starting at £419 pounds. Presently, Clove UK is the sole retailer who is promising to ship the pre-orders on Nov. 12. Expansys, on the other hand, will ship the Android-powered camera around Nov. 18.
Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Camera, along with Galaxy Note 2, at the IFA event in August. The Galaxy Camera boasts cutting-edge hardware and software, outgunning many high-end Android products.
Featuring a 16-megapixel BSI-CMOS sensor and a 21x optical zoom lens, the Galaxy Camera looks like an ordinary camera at the front. However, when flipped back, it reflects the beauty of a high-end device with its 4.8-inch 1280 X 720 pixels resolution display. The rear side has rounded edges and there are three capacitive buttons below the display.
The Galaxy Camera run on quad-core Exynos 4412 processor clocked at 1.4GHz. It has 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage and it supports expandable memory (of up to 32GB), courtesy the microSD card.
For connectivity, the Galaxy Camera can tap into 3G, 4G, or Wi-Fi networks. The device has full access to Google's Play Store, which means users can download any app or game to the device. The connectivity features will allow users to quickly share photos on social networks like Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Alternately, users will also be able to e-mail or text message the snapped photos to friends.
The Samsung Galaxy Camera comes in both black and white models. However, it looks like that retailer will carry white model in the beginning as the black version is currently out of stock.
Last week, Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini also arrived in the UK. Clove started selling the device on Thursday, Nov. 8. Other carriers such as O2, Orange, and Vodafone are due to launch the device.
