Windows Phone 8 smartphones have started to make it to the users and the HTC 8X is one of the devices running the latest Windows Phone 8 operating system, which a user can pick up. AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon are three of the four major carriers offering the Windows Phone 8 devices and Sprint is expected to offer Windows Phone 8 smartphones in early 2013.
Here is what individual networks are offering for HTC 8X.
AT&T
AT&T was the first U.S. carrier to offer three Windows Phone 8 handsets which included the HTC Windows Phone 8X, the 16GB storage version is available only in California Blue and the 8GB version available in both California Blue as well as Limelight Yellow. AT&T has priced the 8GB version of the phone at $99 and the 16GB for $199, both on a two-year contract.
Verizon Wireless
Verizon Wireless will also offer three Windows Phone 8 handsets including the HTC 8X, which will be available in three colors: Graphite Black, California Blue, and Flame Red (exclusive to Verizon). All the colors of the smartphone will have 16GB of internal storage and are sport a price tag of $199 on a two-year contract.
T-Mobile
T-Mobile will offer the two Windows Phone 8 smartphones, including the HTC 8X, but available only in California Blue and only in the 16GB version. Therefore, if T-Mobile's customers want to buy the HTC 8X then choices of colors as well as internal storage is limited. However, at $199, the pricing of the 16GB California Blue HTC 8X is the same as other carriers.
The HTC 8X features a 4.3 inch super LCD 2 touch screen with 1280 x 720 HD 720p resolution and 342 pixels per inch (ppi). The screen of the smartphone is protected by Gorilla Glass 2. A Qualcomm MSM8960 Snapdragon processor clocked at 1.5GHz powers the handset. The HTC 8X measures 5.21 x 2.61 x 0.40 inch and weighs 4.59 ounces.
The device features an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera and a 2.1-megapixel front-facing snapper. An 1800mAh battery fuels the HTC 8X.
The HTC 8X packs top-end features to compete with other Windows Phone 8 smartphones launched recently. Time will tell if the popularity of the HTC 8X increases in the future with carriers offering more colors and storage versions to the customers.
